Technology of the sort that we envisage is already
in use by leading corporations throughout the world, such as TNT nv, Akzo Nobel, Shell and BG Group, as a vehicle to deal
with the ethical issues faced by all internal audiences.
We propose to extend
this process beyond the needs of individual corporations such that the technology will enable collaborations between corporate
business, local governments, civil society groups, councils, academics, development agencies, unions and professional groups.
The portal also provides the means to:
· Encourage training of government officials at all levels
· Develop training for universities and colleges
· Sponsor local training initiatives in developing countries (and beyond)
· Train employees
· Train vendors, contracts, suppliers and other trading partners
A key advantage of
the Portal is the provision of real time measurable information. This comprehensive data collection provides accurate, measurable
statistics. Who is trained, when, what questions are being posed, what research is available, the sharing
of ideas, etc. The possible uses of the Portal to shine a light on bad behaviour and encourage good practices are almost limitless.
