Peggy Viehweger

Peggy Viehweger is an experienced corporate executive, having worked in both the United States and Europe for over 25 years in positions of profit responsibility.

American-born Viehweger began her career at Procter & Gamble in Cincinnati.  An eleven year tenure with many different management experiences culminated in a Board appointed Associate Director position in the (then) Bar Soap and Household Cleaning Division.

Viehweger joined Akzo Nobel in Amersfoort, NL, in 1988, taking on increasing management responsibilities in many chemical areas with global responsibility.  Viehweger was the first American and first female promoted to Business Unit Manager in Akzo Nobel, responsible to the Board for a $1bln business with 22 manufacturing locations worldwide.

Having moved back to the US in 2002, in 2004, Viehweger became President and CEO of the Akzo Nobel phosphorus chemicals business when it was sold to private equity. As such, Supresta was created, the world’s leading phosphorus flame retardant business.  This was sold to a strategic buyer in 2007.

While at Akzo Nobel, Viehweger headed a global Business Principles project, reporting to the Chairman, and managing a hand-picked group of Business Unit Managers.  The multi-year effort included self-designed workshops for all business unit management teams, selection of process owners in each group, regular reporting to the Board on progress, and the use of web-based ongoing training for all managers.

Their corporate client list includes Shell, BT, ING Group, AIB Group, Akzo Nobel, TNT, Vodafone, ICI and Nestle.

He was a board adviser to the ING Group, and provides expert input to the boards of other international companies.

Drummond is a former director of Honeywell and Midland Bank.

Joel Copeland

Joel Copeland has worked in the field of ethics training and eLearning since 1995. He was the developer of the groundbreaking i-CASE series of interactive ethics case studies that have been in use in colleges and universities since then. The production of those cases served as an intensive course of study in business ethics. Joel and his team gathered hundreds of hours of first person interviews and were granted intimate access to stakeholders involved in the Nestlé infant feeding controversy, the Dow Corning breast implant case, and the problems of Shell in Nigeria.

He says, "I have seen first-hand how well-articulated principles and transparency help companies weather storms. I've also seen how other companies, without those things, frequently find themselves in a reactive posture practicing damage control and spin instead of getting on with business."

In 1999 Joel helped found the ethics consulting and training firm, Integrity Works, and the leading eLearning company KMi, Inc.
